犯罪和推理小说是我们生活的时代的反映还是一种逃避？ 圣里奥 University's Dr. Kathryn Duncan, professor of 英语, says both are the case.

Duncan is a featured expert in a 故事 by Husna Haq of 基督教科学箴言报, posted June 1, in advance of the new TV show C.B.罢工.

Based on the popular Cormoran罢工 novels by author J.K. Rowling, famous for her Harry Potter series, the TV adaptation is a seven-part miniseries airing on Cinemax, beginning June 1. 罗琳分别在2013年、2014年和2015年以罗伯特·加尔布雷斯的笔名出版了这些推理小说。

Duncan has taught 哈利波特的世界 course at 圣里奥 and led students on a tour of England and Scotland, visiting some of the locations of where the Harry Potter movies were filmed, along with other locations referenced in the series.

The 圣里奥 professor also holds a passion for the works of Jane Austen and other 18th century literature.

Duncan cites Austen's stories as an example of novels reflecting the culture, and she believes Rowling's Cormoran罢工 novels do the same.
